With a passion for motorsport at both local and International level SCRacing's owners, Phil and Sam Corke have put
significant time and energy into creating a professional race team. With technical skills handed down from generation to
generation and a love of automobiles going to back to very early childhood days the father and son team have turned a passion and hobby into a viable business proposition.
Pit crew chief Phil Corke's interest in the sport grew out of his childhood desire to run, with his father, an engineering and
tuning shop back in the UK. Owing and "tuning" Mini Coppers and Ford Cortinas and tackling some local rally events got the interest going though money and opportunity were short. Now
with 16 year old Sam Corke at the wheel, greater opportunity and a little more to spend, the dream of owning a race team has become a reality.
Sam's earliest encounter with cars was at age two when he was the proud owner of his own( electric car) not one from Toys are US but hand built by dad in secret in his garage at home. A
replica "vintage" model with running-boards and aluminum hood, Sam would spend endless hours driving around paint cans in the yard. With a couple of successful seasons in kart
racing the team now enters it sfirst full season in SCCA competition. Plans for 2003 Race Season SCRacing plans for the 2003 season are to move into full blown competition in SCCA events - initially in the Spec Miata class then
moving onto the Sports Racer Series in SCCA |
