Prolab:

Historical  background

PROLAB was  established in 1985 to provide high quality lubricants  for recreational and commercial use. The founder and President  Mr. Jean-Guy Grenier's, vision was to manufacture Lubricants  that produced phenomenal mechanical results, results which  had never been thought possible. This soon became the  basis of rapid growth for the firm and the once small,  family owned company became Quebec's leader in the Anti-Friction  Industry.

Today, the corporation,  named PROLAB-BIO has a distribution network of  representatives in Quebec and Ontario, distributors in  Canada and import structures worldwide.

Most of all, PROLAB is a certified ISO 9001 Team consisting of administration,  marketing, promotions, sales, research, production, McLab  Science, PROLAB Expert Systems, PROLAB USA, PROLAB-ASIA,  PROLAB do COSTA-RICA and PROLAB Factoring.

Creating high quality  lubricants was one challenge. Creating biodegradable versions  of the same lubricants is another This is the challenge  of the future, the challenge "of a friction free  world".

Major Activities

PROLAB develops,  manufactures and distributes 120 high quality products  dedicated to preventative maintenance for the industry  in general, commercial vehicles and high performance recreational  vehicles.

PROLAB's  competitive advantage is the "Anti-Friction Treatment",  a chemical formulation which significantly reduces shearing  between metal surfaces. Subsequently, savings are incurred,  performance is improved and efficiency is gained. This  exclusive process allows PROLAB to create numerous  lubricants for the industrial, commercial and recreational  sectors.

In an attempt to  provide a complete line of PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE PRODUCTS  to its customers, PROLAB has also developed cleaners,  rust-proofing products and cosmetic beauty enhancers such  as vinyl/leather protectors, paint sealers and soaps.

McLab Science is constantly striving towards the development of  high quality biodegradable lubricants.

In attempt to share  our knowledge of preventative maintenance with the industry,  we have established PROLAB Expert System, a system  which offers our expertise to users in order to facilitate  the maintenance of their operations. Our mechanical and  chemical engineers, in conjunction with our R & D  department, assist industrial users in improving their  productivity through the use of PROLAB lubricants  and the aid of a complex computer system.

Our network of  Retail Service Centres provides the complete line of PROLAB products to the commercial market in a professional and  technical approach to improve performance and endurance.

Racing Involvement

Through sponsorships  and involvement in the recreational industry, PROLAB products are truly tested and proven. Consequently, PROLAB is constantly in the eyes of numerous fans and enthusiasts  whether on the water, in the snow or on race tracks. Whether  you're a recreational Mountain Biker or a serious drag  racer there is a PROLAB lubricant just for you.  From dirt bikes to snowmobiles there are many high speed  moving parts that crave the attention of PROLAB's  products

Ansell:

Ansell,  is principally engaged in the worldwide manufacture and  marketing of latex-dipped products of natural and synthetic  rubber for domestic, industrial, and medical use. Ansell's  global headquarters are located in Red Bank, New Jersey,  USA.

In May of 1997,  the purchase of Golden Needles Knitting, a privately owned  North Carolina-based operation gave Ansell had know-how  in knitting seamless gloves from high-specification, cut-resistant  fibers for the automotive and food-processing industries.

During the fall  of 1997, Ansell also formed a joint venture with  the Raymond Group in Aurangabad, India, for the production  and sale of condoms. Under the Kama Sutra brand name in  the Indian market, the brand was expanded to export markets  in Europe, USA, and Asia.

To further expand  its presence in India, and to enhance its low-cost surgical-glove  manufacturing capability, Ansell acquired 75% of  Kemwell International in 1998. This Bangalore, India-based  company makes surgeons' gloves. Also, in November of 1998, Ansell acquired Suretex Ltd., a Thailand-based  company with modern condom manufacturing facilities in  Bangalore, India, and Surat Thani, Thailand.

Although Ansell has grown substantially through factory expansions, there  has been significant organic growth through the development  of new products and the expansion of new and existing  markets. To cope with these demands and maintain its competitive  position, Ansell continued to develop its global  organization. In 1997, it moved its headquarters from  Melbourne, Australia, to Red Bank, New Jersey, in the  United States.

In order to manage  the continuing growth of the business, a truly global  organizational structure was implemented in 1999, including  the establishment of a Global Science and Technology Group.  This new group was staffed by specialists in the field  of new polymer science, natural-latex technology and supported  glove technology. Additionally, Ansell 's globally  integrated Information System with common platforms and  linked communications capability has positioned the company  for the Year 2000 challenges, and the opportunities emerging  for electronic commerce.

Ansell has  also established a Global Operations and Supply Organization ,  responsible for optimizing the company's Supply Chain  across all business units. With sales and marketing teams  in each of the three major regions: Asia-Pacific, Europe,  and the Americas, Ansell is well positioned to continue  to grow successfully into the 21st century.

From the humble  origins of a small, one-man operation in a Melbourne suburb  95 years ago, Ansell has become one of the world's largest  producers and marketers of natural and synthetic latex  gloves and condoms, employing over 12,000 people in more  than 20 countries ... and we are still growing!
